- Completed application - submitted online
- 250 word essay: In 250 words, explain why you want to participate in the Engineering Innovation course and what you hope to gain from the experience. This essay will be uploaded unto the online application.
- $55 non-refundable application fee paid online with the application submission - this can be paid online with a credit card or with checking account information.
- Most recent standardized test scores (PSAT, SAT, ACT). You will enter these on the online application.
- Letter of recommendation from a math or science teacher. You will need to provide the teacher's name and email address so that we can send an email requesting their online recommendation. You should ask your teacher if they are willing to recommend you before giving us their email address.
- Official high school transcripts, including grades through your first semester for this year. You will need to request this from your high school and have them mail it to us at the address below. It usually takes several weeks, so plan ahead. Please let us know on the online application if you are currently enrolled in a required class that will not show up on your transcript.
- If applicable, complete the online Financial Aid form with supporting documents, which can be uploaded or mailed to us. Supporting documents are typically your parent's or gaurdian's most recent tax forms, either a 1040 or W-2.
- If you are an international student you will need an F-1 VISA to participate in Engineering Innovation. Once you have been accepted into the program, you will need to provide the Johns Hopkins Office of International Student and Scholar Services a copy of the identification pages in your passport and a copy of a bank statement showing that you have sufficient funds to cover the costs associated with attending Engineering Innovation.

Please Note
- Prerequisites for students applying to Engineering Innovation include algebra II, trigonometry, a lab science (physics, chemistry, or biology), and familiarity with a spreadsheet program, such as Excel.
- Limited Residential Spots Available! There will be 85 residential spots available at the Homewood location on a first come, first served basis. These spots will cost an additional fee and financial aid will not apply.
- Admission into Engineering Innovation does not automatically entitle students for admission into the undergraduate program at Johns Hopkins University
