Mathematics, Engineering Science Achievement (MESA) supports educationally disadvantaged students in California so they will excel in math and science and go on to attain degrees in math-based fields. MESA operates at all levels of the academic pipeline, from pre-college to community college to four-year university levels. The program offers challenging hands-on activities that reinforce student learning of key concepts while maintaining high standards of academic performance. MESA has been replicated in over a dozen other states. More information about MESA is available at http://mesa.ucop.edu.
