Mission Statement

Engineering Innovation’s mission is to create a national pipeline of innovative and creative thinkers who will lead society’s technological advancements. The program engages pre-college students in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education, inspires them to consider further studies and careers in engineering, and provides an understanding of basic engineering principles and skills so that students can make informed decisions about their futures. The academic program demystifies technology, emphasizes engineering’s innovative and creative aspects, and exposes students to engineering’s diverse educational and career opportunities with the ultimate goal of reversing the declining national interest in engineering careers and STEM education.
